Guidelines for Authors - MedPulse Spectrum

We welcome your manuscript submission to MedPulse Spectrum, and to ensure seamless processing, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. Manuscript Submission and Ethical Standards

Before submitting, please ensure your manuscript aligns with the "Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals" (Updated December 2014), available at http://www.icmje.org. Manuscripts must be original and not published or under consideration elsewhere.

Authors should register and submit manuscripts through the journal's website (www.medpulsespectrum.org). A helpful tutorial on manuscript submission can be found on the site. Alongside your submission, please include an undertaking signed by all authors certifying the originality of the work and the commitment to transfer copyrights to MedPulse Spectrum. A sample undertaking is accessible at (provide link).

  1. Research and Publication Ethics

Authors must confirm their adherence to ethical standards by obtaining approval from a Research Ethics Committee. Additionally, any conflicts of interest must be transparently stated either in the manuscript or in an attached document.

  1. Abstracts and Keywords

Abstracts should not exceed 250 words and should be structured under the headings: Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions. Keywords (3-10) should follow the abstract, using terms from the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) of Index Medicus.

  1. Manuscript Types and Formats

Original Article:

Structure your manuscript according to the following headings:

Introduction: Provide context for the study, highlighting the research gap and the rationale behind your investigation.

Material & Methods: Describe the study design, population characteristics, sampling methods, data collection, and statistical analyses used in your research.

Results: Present the findings of your study in a clear and organized manner, using tables, figures, and graphs as needed.

Discussion: Interpret your results, compare them with prior research, and discuss their implications. Address any limitations of the study and suggest avenues for future research.

Conclusions: Summarize the key findings and their broader implications.

Acknowledgments: Recognize individuals, organizations, or funding sources that contributed to the study.

References: List the sources you've cited in your article following the Vancouver referencing style.

Case Report:

Your case report should adhere to the following structure:

Title: Clearly state the focus of your case report.

Abstract: Provide a concise summary of the key aspects of the case, including background, presentation, intervention, and outcome.

Introduction: Explain the significance of the case and its context within existing literature.

Case Report: Present the details of the case, including patient history, clinical findings, diagnostic procedures, treatment, and outcome.

Discussion: Analyze the case, compare it with similar cases in the literature, and discuss any unique or important aspects.

References: List the sources cited in your case report.

Review Article, Editorial, Special Communication, Short Communication, and Pictorial:

These manuscript types should include the following elements:

Brief Abstract: Provide a concise summary of the main points or themes covered in the article, not exceeding 250 words.

For Review Article:

Review articles aim to synthesize existing literature on a specific topic. They may follow an organization that is most suitable for the content being reviewed.

For Editorial:

Editorials present the journal's stance on a particular issue, offer commentary, or discuss a relevant topic. They should be insightful and thought-provoking.

For Special Communication:

Special communications may include important announcements, updates, or information related to the field or the journal.

For Short Communication:

Short communications are concise research reports that focus on presenting a specific aspect of a study.

For Pictorial:

Pictorials may include visual content such as images, diagrams, or illustrations that contribute to the understanding of a medical concept or topic.

Each of these manuscript types should align with the overall journal's focus and follow the guidelines provided earlier for abstracts, references, and other necessary components.5. References

  1. References should begin on a separate page from page 3 onwards. In an Original Article, references must not exceed 40; for Review Articles, the limit is 100.
